Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming integral to our daily lives and educational environments. Yet, our students need guidance on how to use AI tools ethically and productively, particularly with generative AI tools like ChatGPT. Concurrently, instructors are expressing a strong interest in developing engaging, AI-enhanced activities and assignments while minimizing the risks of AI-facilitated cheating.
In this session, we will provide an overview of critical AI literacies for students, and we’ll share tools that instructors can use to help their students master these skills. We will also offer practical resources and scenario-based guidance to help instructors with guiding their students on responsible AI use. From our Making 101 series, which introduces students to our state-of-the-art maker spaces, to the Student Innovation Fund Challenge, which fuels interdisciplinary student teams’ creativity, we offer a range of opportunities for students to get involved. And, all stakeholders can join us for our annual IGNITE Innovation Showcase—an incredible event that puts the spotlight on the innovative work happening across campus through displays, exhibitions, panels, presentations, receptions, and celebrations!
As an academic innovator and champion of transformative student learning experiences, I am eager to engage with our stakeholders to cultivate an environment that fosters and celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship.
